    I would also stress checking out industry reports and independent surveys of different car insurance companies.

    I find it very interesting that early last month, J.D. Power released a survey listing car insurance companies with the highest customer satisfaction rating. Would you believe that AIG was near the bottom?

    And this report was released before the financial crisis went belly-up and the Feds stepped in to rescue AIG with that $70B bailout. I think this low customer service rating is very indicative of a company that doesn’t take car of its most valuable asset: Customers.
